199 Venezuelan deportees reaches home from US

KATHMANDU: A plane carrying 199 immigrants deported from the United States arrived in Venezuela on Monday morning, according to Venezuelan Minister of the Interior, Diosdado Cabello.

“Today, we welcome 199 of our nationals,” he stated at the airport. “We are ready to welcome Venezuelans wherever they are.”

Live footage showed young people in sweatshirts disembarking from the plane at an airport near Caracas.

Some of them were smiling and clapping as they stepped onto Venezuelan soil.

This flight came after Venezuela and Washington announced a deal on Saturday to resume repatriation flights for Venezuelan citizens deported from the United States.
