KATHMANDU: Shree Kesh Ayurvedic Hair Oil, produced by Saptarishi Oil and Cosmetic Industry, has officially been registered with the Department of Drug Administration.
This marks a significant milestone as it becomes the first hair oil to be registered with the department.
The registration process followed the submission of an application by Shree Kesh Ayurvedic Hair Oil, meeting all the necessary conditions set by the Department of Drug Administration.
The application was officially registered at the department’s meeting held on Falgun 25.
As per the Department’s decision dated Asar 23, 2081, the department issued a notice on Sawan 17 to ensure the registration of herbal-scented oils, both for internal and external use, that are in circulation. Shree Kesh Ayurvedic Hair Oil is the first product to be successfully registered under this notice.
Moving forward, all herbal-scented oils produced in Nepal and used for internal or external purposes will be required to be registered with the Department of Drug Administration.
These oils must submit their formulation or composition, provide a price declaration, and submit a declaration guaranteeing that the product does not pose any harm to public health, in accordance with the department’s regulations.
The move comes after an increase in the unregulated sale and distribution of herbal oils in the market.
To address this, the government has set up clear guidelines for the regulation and monitoring of such products.
