Teaser released for Viral Gorkhey: A film exploring the impact of viral fame

KATHMANDU: The teaser for the upcoming film Viral Gorkhey, directed by Nigam Shrestha, has been released ahead of its premiere on June 13.

The 2-minute-long teaser gives a clear glimpse into the film’s plot, which revolves around the obsession with going viral.

The character played by Saugat Malla is seen engaging in various comedic activities to gain attention on TikTok, highlighting the absurdity of the viral trend. In the teaser, Saugat’s character is even tagged as a “superstar.”

The film takes a satirical look at the lengths people go to in order to become viral on social media. It also features a glimpse of the chemistry between Saugat Malla and Srishti Shrestha, who appear to share a close bond.

This is their first project together since their breakup.

Additionally, popular journalist Rishi Dhamala also appears in the teaser, playing a journalist’s role.

Directed and written by Nigam Shrestha, Bhairal Gorkhe stars Saugat Malla, Srishti Shrestha, and Rishi Dhamala, along with Buddhi Tamang, Laxmi Giri, Rajaram Poudel, Bikash Lama, Sapana Chaudhary, Dhurva Thapa, and Sunil Tamang.

The film will explore the effects and consequences of chasing viral fame, showcasing the impact of this trend on individuals and society.

This is Shrestha’s fourth directorial venture after Chadke, Chadke 2, and Lal Purja. The film is produced under the banners of GMI Films and Nirvana Film School, with Bishal Tamrakar, Kewal Jung Kunwar, and Mahesh Lamichhane as producers. Co-producers include Bhuwan Adhikari and Nikhil Poudel.

The film features Amar Maharjan as the DOP, Suraj Maharjan as the cinematographer, and the editing team of Ravi Chaudhary and Bhim Bishwokarma. Sound design is by Amit Shrestha.

With its fresh take on the viral culture, Bhairal Gorkhe is sure to captivate audiences with its blend of humor and social commentary.
