Voting for FSU election resumes at PN Campus

Voting is taking place through six centers within the campus.

KATHMANDU: The voting for the Free Student Union (FSU) election at Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara, has started. The election, which was postponed twice on Chait 5 and Chait 6, resumed on Sunday morning at 8 AM.

Voting is taking place through six centers within the campus, as informed by Election Officer Prof. Dr. Ramchandra Pokhrel. “The voting started at 8 AM. The polling time is until 4 PM, but those who enter the campus by 4 PM will still be allowed to vote,” he said.

There are 9,270 eligible voters at Prithvi Narayan Campus. Since 2006, the SWVU elections had not been held at this campus.

In the direct election category, there are 8 candidates and in the proportional category, 9 organizations/panels are competing. In the direct election, candidates from Akhil (Revolutionary), ANNFSU (Sixth), Pragyanik Vidyarthi Parishad Nepal, Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh, Joint Panel, and ANNFSU are running.

The presidential candidates in the direct election are Naveen Adhikari from Akhil (Revolutionary), Milan Sunar from ANNFSU (Sixth), Dipsan Gurung from Pragyanik Vidyarthi Parishad Nepal, Sushil Nyaupane from Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh, Santosh Paudel from Joint Panel, and Bishnu Pokhrel from ANNFSU. Kamal Suvedi and Bipilvi Nyaupane are independent candidates.

In the proportional election category, Akhil (Revolutionary), ANERASWU, Pragyanik Vidyarthi Parishad Nepal, Akhil (Sixth), Akhil (Revolutionary) Vaidi, Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh, ANERASWU, Akhil (Socialist), and Naya Shakti Vidyarthi Union have submitted their nominations.
