Minister Bidya Bhattarai directs full implementation of free education act
Minister Bhattarai also mentioned that a detailed action plan for school reform has been developed for implementation through 2026.

KATHMANDU: Education, Science, and Technology Minister Bidhya Bhattarai has directed private and institutional schools to fully implement the Compulsory and Free Education Act.
Speaking at a meeting of the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee of the House of Representatives on Friday, she emphasized the need for effective implementation of the law as a key component of her action plan for education reform.
She stated that institutional schools must operate with a sense of social welfare and highlighted the Act’s provision requiring these schools to provide at least 10% scholarships.
Minister Bhattarai also mentioned that a detailed action plan for school reform has been developed for implementation through 2026.
Additionally, she urged private and institutional school teachers to be enrolled in the Social Security Fund.
