Three held with drugs in Pokhara

KATHMANDU: Three individuals have been arrested in possession of drugs in Pokhara’s Chhorepatan area.
The arrested persons have been identified as 26-year-old Elina Sotonga Pun, a resident of Magdi currently living in Ranipauwa, Pokhara Metropolitan City-11, 41-year-old Sarjan Gurung from Machhapuchhre Municipality-3, and 30-year-old Sujan Gurung.
The police recovered 340 milligrams of brown heroin (similar to brown sugar), 144 ampoules of Buprenorphine, 143 ampoules of Diazepam, and 142 ampoules of Phenergan, totaling 429 ampoules.
Additionally, four mobile phones were seized from the suspects.
The arrests followed a tip-off about drug trafficking activities in Chhorepatan, Pokhara-17.
A joint police team from the Kaski District Police Office and the Narcotics Control Bureau’s Pokhara branch carried out the operation that led to the arrests.
The suspects have been remanded for seven days by the Kaski District Court, where investigations into the drug-related case are underway.
