Massive cheating material seized at Khakhana Lotana SEE exam center
Action is being taken against those responsible for the misconduct.

KATHMANDU: A large quantity of cheat sheets, guess papers, and clipboards with written answers have been seized from students at the Khakhana Lotana Secondary School SEE Exam Center in Sonma Rural Municipality, Mahottari.
Shortly after the exam began, clipboards with answers to the English subject questions, along with photocopies of typed answers, were distributed to students.
A team led by Deputy Chief District Officer (DCDO) Upendra Nyaupane uncovered a significant amount of cheating materials during the raid.
According to Nyaupane, the police officers stationed for security allowed the students to bring in clipboards without obstruction, and the exam invigilators seemed to have overlooked students copying answers.
The Center Head, Arun Kumar Yadav, is accused of organizing the exam in a room without windows, near the roadside, to facilitate the easy passing of cheat materials from outside.
Yadav acknowledged the issue, admitting that the presence of a large crowd of guardians outside the center made it difficult to control the situation.
Witnesses reported seeing cheat materials being passed over the wall and through the window for an extended period. While other exam centers conducted their exams in a more disciplined manner, Khakhna Center failed to make improvements, as noted by Neupane.
A total of 11,161 students are participating in the SEE exams at 32 centers in Mahottari.
Action is being taken against those responsible for the misconduct, said Neupane.
