Manang registers lowest participation in SEE with only 41 students

KATHMANDU: The Secondary Education Examination (SEE) that started today has seen the lowest number of students participating from Manang.
On the first day, Thursday, a total of 41 students appeared for the compulsory English exam, including one student for grade improvement.
According to Dhruv Prasad Koirala, the head of the Education Development and Coordination Unit of Manang, there should have been 42 students, but one regular student was absent.
Of the participants, 22 were female students and 19 were male students.
One male student, who was mentally disturbed, was given an additional half-hour to complete the exam.
The students from three schools in the district appeared at a single center, Popular Secondary School in Chame.
15 students came from Popular Secondary School. Two students from the school’s open category appeared, one female student participated, while the male student was absent.
At Prakash Jyoti Secondary School in Nasong, Lower Manang, 21 students participated, while 4 students from Annapurna Secondary School in Upper Manang appeared for the exam.
The Chief District Officer, Matrika Acharya, stated that the exam was being conducted peacefully.
