Uttara Mahara wins FSU Presidency at Purchaudi Campus
According to Election Officer Navraj Joshi, Awasthi secured 103 votes in the election.
KATHMANDU: Uttara Mahara from the Nepal Students’ Union (Nepal Student Union – NSU) has won the post of Chairperson of the Free Student Union (FSU) at Purchaudi Multidisciplinary Campus in Baitadi.
Mahara triumphed over her closest rival, Vishnu Datta Awasthi from the All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU), by a margin of 16 votes.
According to Election Officer Navraj Joshi, Awasthi secured 103 votes in the election.
In the position of Secretary, Sandeep Bhandari from NSU emerged victorious with 117 votes, while Babita Saud from ANNFSU won the Treasurer’s position with 105 votes.
The newly elected members include Asmita Bisht, Asmita Dhanushe, Dammar Bahadur Air, Keshav Saud from NSU, and Sarita Bohara from ANNFSU.
For proportional representation, ANNFSU received 117 votes, NSU secured 114 votes, and the All Nepal Revolutionary Students’ Union (Akhil Krantikari) gained 91 votes. Out of 557 eligible student voters in the campus, 330 cast their votes.
The election commission reported that 10 votes were invalid for direct voting, while 8 votes were invalid for proportional representation.
