UML-linked ANNFSU panel wins elections at TU affiliated campuses
At Mahendra Multipurpose Campus, the entire ANNFSU panel, led by Kesharjang Shah, emerged victorious in the election for the Free Student Union (FSU).

KATHMANDU: The All Nepal National Independent Students Union (ANNFSU), aligned with the CPN-UML, has won the student union elections at several campuses affiliated with Tribhuvan University, including Mahendra Multipurpose Campus in Nepalgunj, Nepalgunj Nursing Campus, and Gyanodaya Multipurpose Public Campus in Khajura.
At Mahendra Multipurpose Campus, the entire ANNFSU panel, led by Kesharjang Shah, emerged victorious in the election for the Free Student Union (FSU).
The election committee confirmed the victory of the panel, with Kesharjang Shah elected as the president, Chiranjivi Budha as the secretary, and Surendra Rawal as the treasurer.
The elected members include Amis BK, Bandana Tharu, Ankit Kumar Yadav, Tak Rokaya, Niraj Yadav, Rajiv Sah, Shishir Subedi, and Gopal Aujj. Shah’s panel triumphed over two other panels from the Nepal Students Union (NSU) and the Akhil Krantikari faction.
While student organizations from coalition government parties had formed alliances at most campuses, Mahendra Multipurpose Campus saw a direct competition between the NSU and ANNFSU.
At Nepalgunj Nursing Campus, ANNFSU’s Devarchana Adhikari won the post of president with 134 votes, according to the campus chief, Sunita Acharya.
The other elected positions include Isa Poudel as secretary and Asmita Singh as treasurer, with all other positions also going to candidates from the Akhil student organization. The campus had 231 eligible voters.
Meanwhile, at Gyanodaya Multipurpose Public Campus in Khajura, ANNFSU’s Sarbin Mahato was elected president. Mahato secured 112 votes, defeating candidates from a joint panel of ANNFSU and NSU.
The secretary was Sabeen Kumar Khatri, the treasurer was Mamta Karki, and members included Kasish Lama, Niruta Rawat, and Astha Kumari Tharu.
The candidate from the joint panel of ANNFSU and Akhil Krantikari, Mo Asif Sahi, received 64 votes. The election committee reported that 177 votes were cast from 201 eligible voters.
This victory highlights ANNFSU’s significant presence and influence within these campuses.
