NSU panel wins Student Union election at Janajyoti Multi-campus, Rautahat

KATHMANDU: In the student union election held at Janajyoti Multi-campus in Chandranigahpur, Rautahat, on Tuesday, the Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) emerged victorious after a competitive race among four student organizations.

Mohammad Naudas Alam, the NSU candidate for president, won with 1,174 votes.

His closest rival, Damodar Upreti from the All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU), secured 203 votes.

Shahil Puri of NSU was elected as the secretary with 1,128 votes, while Smritna Kumari Chaudhary became the treasurer, receiving 1,148 votes.

Other elected members of the union include Dinesh Kumar Das, Rohan Shrestha, Regina Kumari Kafle, Pushpa Karki, Arjun Bhattarai, Sushil Kumar Pahari, and Ritik Singh.

Election officer Binod Timilsina confirmed that the election also saw participation from the All Nepal Revolutionary Students’ Union and the United Socialist Students’ Union.
