NSU wins at two campuses in Siraha

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Student Union (NSU) has emerged victorious in the Student Council elections at two campuses located in Siraha district.

The campuses – Suryanarayan Satyanarayan Mauraveta Yadav Multidisciplinary Campus and JS Murarka Multidisciplinary Campus in Lahan – saw the NSU panel clinch success.

At the Siraha campus, Prithvikumar Yadav from NSU was elected as the chairperson with a total of 178 votes, defeating his closest rival Vivek Kumar Mandal from the Joint Student Front, who secured 110 votes.

Along with the chairperson, the other positions were also dominated by NSU. Ramesh Kumar Yadav was elected as the secretary, and Ram Yadav emerged victorious as the treasurer.

The newly elected members are Upendra Gupta, Radhika Mandal, Kanchan Paswan, Aarti Mandal, Ajita Yadav, Vishal Yadav, and Manisha Yadav.

In Lahan, Rohit Kumar Raut from NSU was elected as the chairperson, receiving 575 votes. His closest competitor, Manishkumar Chaudhary from the All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union (ANNISU), garnered 431 votes.

Additionally, Sujit Kumar Yadav was elected as the secretary, and Amalesh Singh won the treasurer position. The elected members include Sharmila Chaudhary, Abhinav Mahaseth, Ujjwal Kumar, Rikesh Sada, Anish Sheikh, Ashka Ruchal, and Sunam Chaudhary.

The proportional voting count is still underway, as confirmed by the office of the Student Union Election Officer.
