NSU panel wins FSU Election at Saptakoshi Multidisciplinary Campus

KATHMANDU: In the recently concluded Student Union (FSU) election at Saptakoshi Multidisciplinary Campus, Barahkshetra Municipality, the Nepal Student Union (NSU) emerged victorious, with the panel led by Science Sawa Limbu securing a resounding win.

Out of the 439 eligible voters at the campus, 392 students cast their votes. Limbu was elected as the President with 235 votes, defeating his closest rival, Sanju Khadka of the All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU), by a margin of 117 votes. Khadka garnered 118 votes.

Other candidates in the chairperson race included Dhankeshar Bhujey (Vimal) of ANNFSU Kantikari, who received 5 votes, and Nirmaya Rai of the Socialist Student Union, who received 14 votes.

In the Secretary position, NSU’s Inju Bhattarai secured 188 votes, winning against her closest contender, Pavin Ranamnagar of ANNFSU, who earned 143 votes. Other candidates included Kushal Karki from ANNFSU Kantikari with 6 votes and Badrinath Gautam of the Socialist Student Union, who received 33 votes.

For the Treasurer position, NSU’s Dik Bahadur Chuwan Khatri Niraj was elected with 183 votes, narrowly beating Vivek Basnet of ANNFSU, who got 169 votes. Ankit Thapa of ANNFSU Kantikari secured 9 votes.

NSU’s Manoj Niraula, Manisha Thapa, Bhim Bahadur Bhandari, Asmita Shrestha, and Shahid Churoute secured the positions of members with votes ranging from 203 to 224.

In the proportional representation, NSU received 204 votes, while ANNFSU earned 119 votes. ANNFSU Kantikari and the Socialist Student Union received 10 and 22 votes, respectively.

This victory marks a significant achievement for the Nepal Student Union at the campus, as it secures key positions within the student body.
