KATHMANDU: The logo and mascot for the 10th National Games, which will be held from May 17 to May 24 in Karnali Province, have been unveiled.

Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary and the Vice Chairman of the National Sports Council (NSC), Dhurva Acharya, revealed the logo and mascot at an event on Tuesday.

The mascot for the 10th National Games features the endangered species, the red panda.

The logo incorporates seven colors along with the symbols of the moon and the sun.

Minister Choudhary mentioned that both the logo and mascot reflect the spirit of Karnali Province and are designed to be in harmony with the region’s identity.

The logo and mascot were created by Tamkuju, a local artist. During the event, an online portal for player registration, as well as a dedicated online portal for the event, were also launched.

The exact number of teams and events for the 10th National Games is still pending.

The Games, initially scheduled for December 2024 and then later set for November 2025, have now been postponed to May.

As the Games are set to take place in the peak summer season, it is expected that managing accommodations, including sufficient hotels for athletes in Surkhet, Karnali, will present a significant challenge.
