Tribhuvan Cricket ground’s parapet & floodlights to be ready by May

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Urban Development has announced that the parapet construction and floodlight installation work at the Kirtipur Cricket Ground will be completed by the upcoming month of Baisakh.

During a press conference on Tuesday, the ministry revealed that the project would be finished by Baisakh 24, 2082 (May 7, 2025).

According to the ministry’s spokesperson, Narayan Mainali, the agreement for the construction of the parapet and installation of floodlights at the Kirtipur Cricket Ground, meeting international standards, was signed in the month of Falgun 2081 (Feb 2025).

The project is now underway and is expected to be completed by Baisakh 24, 2082 (May 7, 2025).

In addition, the ministry reported that since the reopening of Dharahara on Sept 19, over Rs 23.7 million in revenue has been generated, with more than 130,000 visitors touring the monument in the period since its reopening.

Furthermore, the ministry has been focused on enhancing the delivery of public services through the construction of administrative buildings at local levels.

As of now, 36 out of the targeted 68 administrative buildings for local governments have been completed, ensuring smooth service provision.

A total of 129 administrative buildings are under construction across various municipalities, and the construction of the Ganeshman Smriti Inclusive Building is in its final phase.
