Newly appointed Kathmandu University VC takes oath
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Prime Minister's Office.

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Chancellor of Kathmandu University, KP Sharma Oli, today administered the oath of office to the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Achyut Prasad Wagle.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Chancellor Oli appointed Dr. Wagle as the Vice-Chancellor based on the recommendations of the Search and Recommendation Committee formed for filling the vacant position, in accordance with Section 13(4) of the Kathmandu University Act, 2048.
The appointment was made on Monday.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Oli acknowledged the delay in the Vice-Chancellor’s appointment and expressed his best wishes for Dr. Wagle’s leadership, urging him to move forward with caution and work collaboratively to build a unified university.
The event was attended by Education, Science, and Technology Minister Vidya Bhattarai, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Vishnu Prasad Rimal, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, and Secretary of the Ministry of Education Dr. Deepak Kafle, among others.
Dr. Wagle, prior to his appointment, served as the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of the university.
