KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak bids farewell to retiring Inspector General of Police, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar.

Congratulating Inspector General Kunwar on the successful completion of his tenure, Home Minister Lekhak extended his best wishes for his future endeavors and the continuous progress of his life after retirement.

Reflecting on his dedicated service, Inspector General Kunwar expressed gratitude for the trust and responsibilities assigned to him by the state, emphasizing that he had carried them out with professionalism and integrity. He also expressed confidence in continuing to serve the nation if given the opportunity in the future.

During the ceremony, Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi praised the crucial and dignified role of the head of the police organization in ensuring the peace and security of the country, acknowledging the significant contributions made by Kunwar to the nation.

On this occasion, Inspector General Kunwar shared that he takes great pride and honor in his journey from a police inspector to the position of Inspector General, considering this farewell moment as one of respect and dignity.

He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Nepal and the Ministry of Home Affairs for their guidance, encouragement, and support during his tenure, which enabled him to contribute to the modernization, strengthening, development, and elevation of the Nepal Police.

Inspector General Kunwar will officially retire from his position tomorrow.
