KATHMANDU: Nisha Dangi, the Whip of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has criticized the government for failing to fulfill its commitment to make digital transactions free of charge.

She pointed out that while Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli publicly committed to this initiative, no action has been taken to implement it.

Speaking in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, Dangi stated, “I have raised the issue of making digital transactions free three times before in the House, and today this is the fourth time. I submitted a letter to the Finance Minister to draw attention to the matter, but there has been no response so far.”

She further mentioned that seven months ago, Prime Minister Oli had posted on social media promising to make digital transactions free, but no action has been taken to implement this promise.

“Does the government not value its own promises? Why is the issue raised repeatedly in Parliament ignored? The public takes the government’s assurances seriously, but it seems like the government pretends not to hear them. Was the Prime Minister’s post on Facebook just to gain likes, shares, and comments, or was it a genuine commitment to implementation?” questioned MP Dangi.
