Tiger rescued in Phunling dies due to injuries

KATHMANDU: A tiger found on the postal line of Phunling, Taplejung the district headquarters, has died.

A local dog on Sunday chased and brought the tiger to the home of Thakur Singh Kalikote.

After rescuing the tiger from the dog, Thakur Singh notified the district police office.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Rawal, both the Division Forest Office and Animal Service Office were alerted for treatment and rescue operations.

Per Division Forest Officer Parmeshwar Paswan, the tiger died before it could receive proper medical attention.

Following the necessary legal procedures in coordination with local authorities and journalists, the body was cremated.

The female tiger, estimated to be around 3-4 years old and weighing about 3 kilograms, had sustained several injuries.
