KATHMANDU: The Acting President of the RSP, Dolprasad Aryal, has urged the government to ensure that foreign workers receive wages as per their contracts.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, Aryal highlighted the issues faced by Nepali workers going abroad for employment, citing complaints of being exploited, facing problems, and receiving no response when raising concerns at embassies.

He specifically pointed out the situation of workers employed at security companies in the UAE and Malaysia, where they are not receiving their wages, holidays, and medical treatment as stipulated in their contracts.

He also mentioned that manpower companies are not providing the promised services and facilities, and when workers raise complaints, they are threatened.

Aryal called for the government to ensure that foreign workers get the services and benefits they are entitled to and demanded that manpower companies exploiting workers be held accountable under the law.

Additionally, he urged the government to take preventive measures against flooding by reinforcing embankments along rivers that are prone to flooding as the monsoon season approaches.
