AR Rahman hospitalized due to dehydration & neck pain
He is expected to be discharged later today.

KATHMANDU: Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman was hospitalized in Chennai after experiencing dehydration and neck pain, likely caused by travel, according to his team.
Despite rumors circulating about a possible heart condition, his team clarified that Rahman, 58, was admitted solely for these issues, and all medical tests showed no abnormalities.
He is expected to be discharged later today.
Rahman is currently involved in various music projects and performances. Last month, he joined Ed Sheeran on stage during the latter’s Mathematics Tour concert in Chennai, where they performed a remix of Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and Rahman’s “Urvasi.” Sheeran later shared on Instagram how honored he felt to perform alongside the music legend.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Rahman is working on composing the soundtrack for Tere Ishq Mein, a spiritual sequel to the hit film Raanjhanna, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, and directed by Anand L. Rai.
Recently, Rahman’s ex-wife, Saira Banu, was also hospitalized for a medical emergency and underwent surgery.
The couple, who announced their separation in Nov 2024 after nearly 29 years of marriage, had no further comments on the matter.
