KATHMANDU: The trailer for the upcoming Nepali film Dorii, set to release on Chait 15 (March 28), has been officially unveiled.
The trailer launch took place on Sunday at a special event held at the INI Cinemas in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu.
The event saw the presence of key figures including the writer, director, and lead actor Arun Lama, actress Anjana Baraily, actors Praveen Khatiwada, Shishir Bangdel, Sajan Shrestha, Birendra Singh Kushwaha, Raj Paudel, Raj Thapa, Nootan, Sharda Adhikari, and Ram Babu Regmi. Additionally, technicians and other crew members were also present.
The trailer primarily revolves around the film’s title, with the central theme being the search for Dorii, which holds a significant power.
Various events unfold as the characters search for this elusive force, with the trailer also touching on family and social disturbances.
The film includes elements of thriller and horror, which are depicted in some gripping and suspenseful scenes.
Director Arun Lama mentioned that the thriller and horror aspects have been incorporated in a way that adds “flavor,” likening it to the use of chutney in dal-bhat tarkari. He also emphasized that the story is fundamentally social and reflects aspects of everyone’s life.
Previously, posters for Dorii had been released, hinting at its thriller and horror genre.
However, its song Chuche Dhungko showcased a romantic side with actors Aryan Sigdel and Anjana Baraily in romantic roles.
Dorii is written and directed by Arun Lama, who also plays the lead role in the film.
The movie features a talented ensemble cast, including Praveen Khatiwada, Shishir Bangdel, Prakash Ghimire, Arun Lama, Anjana Baraily, Raj Paudel, Kavita Ale, Nootan, Raj Thapa, and Birendra Singh Kushwaha, among others.
The film is produced by Dinesh Bhattrai, with Raj Thapa serving as the executive producer.
The script is by Dr. Manoj Pandit, and the key crew includes assistant director Dinesh Bahadur Rawat, action director Raju Tamang, music director Rajan Raj Shiwakoti, art director Roshan Diwanna, editor Milan Shrestha, and color coordinator Renish Fago.
