KATHMANDU: Protesters participating in the relay hunger strike organized by the Nepal Scouts Purification Campaign have been assaulted at the organization’s central office.
According to reports, Smriti Baral, a member of the Nepal Scouts Committee, physically attacked the individuals who were peacefully protesting.
The incident occurred when Baral, without any provocation, reportedly began verbally abusing and physically assaulting the protesters.
The tension escalated after Nepal Scouts Director Ram Prasad Bhattarai removed a banner placed at the protest site, which led to further conflict.
Baral, allegedly under the direction of Bhattarai, engaged in the assault on the demonstrators.
