KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire has claimed that the government is attempting to make policy and legal reforms through the replacement bill of the ordinance.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, MP Ghimire stated that the government is trying to bring about implementation reforms through the replacement bill.

While he acknowledged that further improvements were necessary in the bills, he accused the opposition parties of opposing without understanding the content. He raised the question, “Is the opposition’s objection based on the process or the content of the bill?”

He further explained, “The government is trying to bring some policy reforms, legal reforms, and implementation improvements through the replacement bill of the ordinance. However, this alone is not enough. These changes will not be enough to make our country’s economy dynamic. Therefore, there are still further improvements needed. But it seems that the opposition parties are opposing excessively. I still don’t understand if the objection is to the process or the content. Rather than protesting for the sake of protest, I urge the opposition parties to propose necessary amendments to the bill.”

Ghimire encouraged the opposition to add constructive changes to the bill instead of merely opposing it.
