KATHMANDU: The bodies of two missing road workers have been discovered in the Kali Gandaki River, located in the Ramdi-Ranimahal section of the Kali Gandaki Corridor.

The workers, who had been living in a temporary camp and working as dozer operators, were reported missing earlier this week.

The first body, identified as 26-year-old Bhojaraj Aslami Magar from Golachaur, Sindhuli, was found five days after he went missing.

According to the police, he had eaten dinner with his friends at the camp on the evening of March 10 and was last seen sleeping there.

However, when he was not found in his bed the following morning, a search operation began.

His mobile phone was found in his bedding, and CCTV footage showed him leaving the camp at around 2:00 AM.

During the search, his body was discovered in the Kali Gandaki River near Bagnas Kali-6, Yamagha Maichaur.

The second body, that of 45-year-old Tejbahadur Raskoti from Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-3, Dang, was found three days later.

Raskoti had been missing since arch 10 after he went swimming in the Kali Gandaki River and drowned.

His body was located approximately 200 meters away from where he had gone missing. His friends had alerted the police after he failed to return, prompting a search operation.

Both bodies have been sent to the Palpa Hospital in Tansen for postmortem examinations.

The police have launched further investigations into both incidents.
