KATHMANDU: An incident occurred during Holi celebrations in Janakpur, where a 19-year-old man, Ashu Yadav, lost his life after being stabbed.

According to the District Police Office in Dhanusha, the stabbing happened amidst a dispute that arose while people were celebrating Holi.
In the course of the altercation, 21-year-old Dharmendra Mahto, a resident of Janakpur-23, allegedly stabbed Ashu Yadav. Despite being rushed to the hospital for treatment, Ashu succumbed to his injuries.
While most of the districts in Madhesh celebrated Holi on Friday, Janakpur held its celebrations on Saturday.
The police have apprehended Dharmendra Mahto in connection with the crime, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing, as confirmed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Varun Kumar Singh of the Dhanusha District Police Office.
This tragic event has cast a shadow over the festive spirit of the region, and the authorities are working to gather further details about the circumstances surrounding the deadly dispute.
