Rajkumar Hirani ventures into OTT with web series ‘Preetam Pedro’
The series has already begun filming, and its story has been penned by Hirani himself.
KATHMANDU: Renowned Bollywood director Rajkumar Hirani, known for blockbuster films like PK, Dunki, Sanju, and Munna Bhai MBBS, is set to make his debut in the OTT space.
He won’t be stepping in alone—his son, Veer Hirani, will also be entering the world of digital content alongside him.
According to Indian media reports, the father-son duo is working on a web series titled Preetam Pedro, with Vikrant Massey in the lead role.
The series has already begun filming, and its story has been penned by Hirani himself.
Speaking about his decision to create a web series, Hirani revealed that he came across several compelling short stories during the COVID-19 lockdown. “I felt that a web series would be the best medium for these stories, as a two-hour film wouldn’t do justice to the narrative,” he said in an interview with Indian media.
With the growing demand for web series on OTT platforms, many renowned filmmakers, including Karan Johar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, have already embraced the digital space.
Now, Rajkumar Hirani joins the list, bringing his signature storytelling style to the streaming world.
