Teen killed in khukuri attack in Kalikot

KATHMANDU: A 17-year-old boy was killed in a kukri attack in Chauki, Khadachakra Municipality-10, Kalikot on Wednesday night.

According to police, a dispute broke out among the youths attending the event, leading to the fatal attack on Rajesh Shahi, 17, of Tilagufa Municipality-7, Chhapre. Another teenager, Bhupendra Shahi, 16, was injured in the attack.
“We have arrested those involved in the incident,” said Krishna KC, spokesperson for the District Police Office.
A police team led by DSP Tek Bahadur Rawat reached the village, located 35 km from the district headquarters, Manma, on Thursday morning.
The suspects, all under 18, have been taken into custody, and the victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem.
“Further investigation is underway,” DSP Rawat added.
