Govt. presents bill to amend Nepal’s laws on good governance & public service
This came after lawmakers, opposing the bill on grounds of undermining good governance, saw their objections rejected by the majority.

KATHMANDU: The government has introduced the “Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to the Promotion of Good Governance and Public Service Delivery, 2081” in Parliament.
During Wednesday’s session of the House of Representatives, the bill was presented by Communications and Information Technology Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung on behalf of the Prime Minister.
This came after lawmakers, opposing the bill on grounds of undermining good governance, saw their objections rejected by the majority.
Following this, members of Parliament will have a 72-hour window to propose amendments to the bill. Afterward, the bill will be discussed in a parliamentary committee.
The government aims to amend 12 laws through this bill, seeking to strengthen good governance and enhance the rights of non-residential citizens.
