Three Presidents elected unopposed in Salyan TU campuses

KATHMANDU: Three student union presidents have been elected unopposed in three of the seven campuses under Tribhuvan University (TU) in Salyan district.
The campuses where the presidents were elected unopposed include Bangad Campus, Kapurkot, and Sharda Campus Shankhamul.
In Bangad Campus, Life Bista from Akhil Krantikari was elected, while in Kapurkot, Jhalak Oli from Nepal Student Union (NSU) and in Sharda Campus Shankhamul, Bishal Khadka from All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) were selected.
According to NSU Salyan President Keshav Dangi, elections will take place in the remaining campuses: Salyan Multi-campus, Janakalyan Campus Tharmare, Shivjan Campus Sitalpati, and Farula Campus.
In Farula Campus, Hima Sharma from Akhil Krantikari and Nishan Devkota from the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) led student group, Bipul Akhil Socialist, are contesting for the president position.
At Janakalyan Campus Tharmare, Ganesh Wali from Akhil Krantikari, and Phalendra Puri from a joint alliance of NSU and ANNFSU are in the race, while in Shivjan Campus Sitalpati, Roshan Khadka from Akhil Krantikari and Suraj Hamal from the alliance of NSU and ANNFSU are competing.
Similarly, at Salyan Multi-campus Luhaping, Sital Kunwar from Akhil Krantikari, and Vishal Pun from NSU and ANNFSU alliance are running for the president position. Rajendra Khadka from Bipul Akhil Socialist is also in the race.
NSU and ANNFSU have formed an alliance for the student union elections in the district, while Bipul and Akhil Socialist have formed another coalition.
