84 campuses elect FSU leaders uncontested

KATHMANDU: Leadership of the Free Student Union (FSU) has been elected uncontested in 84 campuses across the country.

On Tuesday, as part of the nomination process, candidates were elected uncontested after only one nomination was received for each position.

In some regions, student organizations have selected leadership through mutual understanding and consensus.

Among the 84 campuses with uncontested elections, FSU has claimed victory in 33 campuses, according to Chair Dujang Sherpa.

Similarly, All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU) Chair Samik Badal asserted that their union has won in 30 campuses, while the remaining 21 campuses have been claimed by the All Nepal Revolutionary Students’ Union (Akhil Krantikari).

In the Kathmandu Valley, out of 22 campuses, the nomination process has been disrupted in six campuses.

The election process has not advanced at Nepal Law, Shankar Dev, Padma Kanya, Saraswati, Public Youth, and Vishwabhasha campuses.

The nomination process for elections was scheduled on Tuesday in the affiliated, community, and private campuses under Tribhuvan University.

According to various student organizations, including NSU, ANNFSU, and Akhil Krantikari, nominations have been registered in over 300 campuses, excluding affiliated ones. Voting for the nominated candidates is scheduled for Chaitra 5.
