KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting was postponed for 15 minutes after ministers failed to attend.

The session, scheduled for 11 AM on Wednesday, began at 11:30 AM but was soon disrupted.

Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre) Chief Whip Hit Raj Pandey raised concerns over the absence of ministers, questioning the government’s commitment to parliamentary proceedings.

In response, Speaker Devraj Ghimire announced the temporary suspension of the meeting.

Pandey accused the government of disregarding the House. “The session has begun, but ministers are absent. They don’t attend committee meetings either. A meeting cannot proceed without the government’s presence, as per our regulations,” he stated.

Opposition parties also objected to conducting the session without ministers, leading to the Speaker’s decision to halt proceedings for 15 minutes.
