Rautahat police seizes smuggled goods, arrests one from India

KATHMANDU: Rautahat police on Tuesday arrested an individual along with goods smuggled illegally from India.

A police team, including district police personnel and additional units, conducted vehicle checks at various locations and found motorcycle parts, clothing, and grocery items being transported without customs clearance from India.

The items were being brought in two Indian-registered motorcycles: BR 30 EX 2407 and BR 05 Z 7268.

The goods were seized and 25-year-old Bhola Sah from Tikuliya, Gaur Municipality-4, was arrested.

According to DSP Deepak Kumar Rai, one other person fled upon seeing the police.
