Democracy’s only alternative is reform, not regression or monarchy: Bista

KATHMANDU: MP Gokarna Bista from CPN-UML has stated that democracy’s alternative cannot be regression or monarchy.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, Bista emphasized that the only alternative to democracy could be an advanced and reformed version of it.

He pointed out the need for reforms within Nepali politics and said that only if the tendency to speak one thing and do another is improved, could prosperous politics be achieved.

Bista further stressed that the development of a system that values merit-based work and evaluation would inspire hope in Nepali politics.

He claimed that since the formation of the current government, positive changes have been observed in the country.
