KATHMANDU: In a statement during Tuesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Dhurba Bahadur Pradhan, a lawmaker from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, expressed his happiness over the parliament being “resonated by the name of the King.”

He also criticized the main opposition leader, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, for making irresponsible remarks.

Pradhan warned that the future political system should ensure that the people are not excluded from the parliament.

He emphasized that the constitution’s structure should not be altered and criticized the current system for its inability to safeguard the nation.

He remarked, “Today, the House is alive with the King’s name, which brings immense joy to us. On the occasion of Democracy Day, the King sent his best wishes, reminding us of his protective role.” Pradhan further stressed that the current system cannot protect the country or serve the people’s interests. He called on all Nepalese to unite for the cause.

Recalling the public’s enthusiastic reception on the 25th in Pokhara, he noted, “When returning from Pokhara, the spontaneous public reception from the airport to Nirmal Niwas was overwhelming.” He also emphasized that his party had thoroughly studied the constitution, pointing out that until the monarchy’s presence is restored, the country would continue to suffer from irresponsible governance.
