Nepal secures narrow win over Uganda in Women’s T20I Series
This victory marks Nepal's first win in the series.

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s women’s cricket team clinched a dramatic one-wicket victory over Uganda in the second match of the ongoing Women’s T20 series in Uganda.
The match, played at the Entebbe Cricket Oval on Sunday, saw Nepal successfully chase down Uganda’s target of 76 runs in 19.5 overs, losing 9 wickets.
For Nepal, Sanaa Pravin top-scored with 17 runs, while Pooja Mahato contributed 16 runs and Rubina Chhetri made 10.
Other batters struggled to reach double figures. Uganda’s captain, Janet Babji, impressed with the ball, claiming three wickets, while Sara Walazi took two.
Earlier, Uganda, batting first after winning the toss, posted a total of 75 runs in 20 overs, losing seven wickets. Imaculate Nakisui was the top scorer for Uganda with 22 runs.
Stefania Nampilinla and Malisha Arikota added 14 and 11 runs, respectively. Nepal’s Pooja Mahato shone with the ball, taking three wickets, while captain Indu Barmach took two.
This marks Nepal’s first win in the four-team series. In the opening game, Nepal had lost to Namibia by six wickets. After facing each team twice, the top two teams will compete for the title.
Nepal will play their third match against Hong Kong on Monday.
