KATHMANDU: The Prime Minister Cup (PM Cup) One-Day Men’s National Cricket Tournament, organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), begins today (Sunday).

The tournament, running from March 9 to March 29, will take place across three cities in Lumbini Province.

A total of 10 teams, including seven provincial teams and three departmental teams, are competing for the title.

Matches will be played at Siddhartha Stadium in Bhairahawa, Deukhuri Cricket Stadium in Dang, and Extratech Oval in Tilottama.

On the opening day, Koshi Province faces Lumbini Province at Siddhartha Stadium, while Bagmati Province takes on APF Club at Extratech Oval.

Meanwhile, Karnali Province and Sudurpashchim Province clash at Deukhuri Cricket Stadium.

So far, only departmental teams have won the PM Cup title.

Nepal Police Club has claimed the trophy three times, while APF Club and Tribhuvan Army Club have won twice each.

Defending champions Nepal Police Club will be aiming to retain their crown.
