Tension in Pokhara as metropolitan police halt Kotihom Bhoomi Pooja

KATHMANDU: Tension erupted in Pokhara after the metropolitan authorities attempted to stop the scheduled Bhoomi Pooja for the Kotihom event.

The Nepal Panchang Decision Committee had set an auspicious time for the ritual this morning.

However, Pokhara Metropolitan City has been claiming that no official permission was granted for the event.

Despite this, organizers proceeded with the preparations, prompting the deployment of municipal police early in the morning.

A clash broke out when officials tried to prevent the Bhoomi Pooja, leading to heightened unrest in the Lakeside area.

Reports indicate that some individuals from the Koti Homam side sustained injuries during the altercation.
