‘Hostel 3’ hits theaters nationwide with strong opening
Following the success of the previous two installments in the Hostel series, this film was eagerly awaited.
KATHMANDU: The highly anticipated Nepali film Hostel 3 has been released across the country.
Directed by Sashan Kandel, the movie has secured over 200 shows nationwide.
Advance bookings opened on Wednesday, and while not entirely sold out by Friday morning, audience turnout has been promising.
Distributors believe the film’s box office performance will gain momentum despite its non-holiday release.
Following the success of the previous two installments in the Hostel series, this film was eagerly awaited.
Targeted at the youth demographic, Hostel 3 aims to captivate Nepal’s core moviegoing audience.
The film features popular digital-age actors, including Paras Bam Thakuri, Simran Pant, Ashish Ghimire, Padam Tamang, Hena Nagarkoti, Rhyaan Giri, and Sama Parajuli in lead roles.
Prabin Khatri plays the role of the warden, while Ashish Purush, Rohan Shrestha, Umar Khan, and Santosh Baniya also make notable appearances.
The film gained significant attention following the release of its songs and trailer. Within six hours of its trailer launch, it was trending on YouTube, amassing 1 million views in just 21 hours.
The trailer remains the top-ranking video in Nepal’s film section and has trended in over 20 countries, including India, the UK, Japan, South Korea, and the Middle East.
Remarkably, Hostel 3 also made history by entering the trending charts of the Indian film industry.
Madhav Sharma has written the screenplay and dialogues while also serving as an associate director.
The movie is produced by Suresh Kandel, Karna Karki, and Govinda Adhikari, with co-producers Shishir Gyawali, Anish Sigdel, Kundan Gupta, and Ganesh Magar.
Shankar Koirala is the executive producer, and Kosis Raj Kshetri serves as the line producer.
Arjun Tiwari has handled cinematography, with editing by Bikash Dahal.
Action sequences are directed by Himal KC. The film’s soundtrack is composed by Arjun Pokhrel, Almoda Rana Uprety, Mahesh Gyawali, and Kiran Michael.
Yam Oli is the production designer, while Prabin Singh and Roshan Bishwakarma have choreographed the dance sequences.
The film’s distribution is managed by Kafia Films (Govinda Shahi) in the Kathmandu Valley and RR Films (Rohit Kattel and Ratna Shrestha) outside the valley.
With a strong opening and positive audience reception, Hostel 3 is expected to make a significant mark at the Nepali box office.
