KATHMANDU: At Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2025, He Bo, President of Huawei’s Data Center Facility & Critical Power Product Line, announced the company’s future site power facility architecture, ‘Single SitePower,’ and the AI data center construction guideline RASTM.

These technologies aim to help operators become energy prosumers and support the building of more intelligent ICT facilities in the AI era.

Huawei’s Commitment to Sustainable Innovation

In his keynote, He Bo emphasized that ‘The rise of network architectures centered on data centers in the intelligent era is driving higher demands for digital and intelligent energy.’ He further explained that Huawei Digital Power is consistently innovating in both architectural design and solutions to help operators evolve into energy prosumers—leaders in energy efficiency and sustainability.

Introducing Single Site Power: A New Era in Intelligent Site Power Facilities

Single Site Power represents Huawei’s next-generation intelligent solution for site power facilities. This architecture introduces a unique three-level synergy mechanism that spans site power facilities, wireless networks, and power grids, ensuring bidirectional interaction of power and information flows from the power source to storage and beyond. Key benefits include:

Resilience: Interconnecting wireless networks and site power facility networks, Huawei achieves grid-source synergy, source-storage synergy, and storage-load synergy to ensure resilient facilities across the entire power process.

Greenness: Utilizing leading-edge technologies like high-voltage series connections, optimizers, smart algorithms, arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCIs), and rapid shutdown devices (RSDs), the architecture enables green operation, with optimal monetization of green energy value.

Reliability: Huawei emphasizes high-quality, secure lithium batteries to ensure consistent communication and power management throughout the system.

RASTM: A Roadmap for AI Data Center Construction

As data centers transform from general-purpose computing to AI workloads, Huawei recognizes the importance of addressing
four key issues: reliability, uncertainty, rapid delivery, and high power consumption. Huawei, in collaboration with global customers, developed the RASTM AI data center building guideline that prioritizes:

Reliability: To ensure the increasing value of AI facilities, Huawei encourages the application of leading-edge architecture, intelligent management, and professional services to ensure long-term reliability during the lifecycle of the AI data center.

Agility: Designed to address evolving and uncertain requirements, AI data centers need to leverage modular design and electromechanical decoupling for rapid deployment and adaptability.

Sustainability: By emphasizing power supply efficiency, Huawei

is striving to transfer energy efficiency improvement from single equipment to parallel systems, moving towards large-scale applications of super-economic control operation (S-ECO) modes.

He Bo ended, “We promote the vision of Power for AI & AI for Power and will keep pouring investments into technology
innovation. Our aim is to drive the in-depth integration of digital, intelligent, and green technologies, and create robust, green, and trustworthy ICT infrastructures that enab operators to switch from energy consumers to prosumers.”
