KATHMANDU: A wildfire that started last Tuesday afternoon on Mount Sansarkot, located on the border of wards 1 and 2 of Ribdikot Municipality, is still not under control.
According to the District Police Office, the fire has been difficult to extinguish due to dry conditions and strong winds.
The fire has spread over approximately 170 hectares, causing damage to four community forests.
The affected forests include Deurali Lek Community Forest, Bharekhola Community Forest, Madhuwan Community Forest, and Vrindavan Community Forest, according to the Division Forest Office.
Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and local residents are working together to contain the fire.
