KATHMANDU: New Zealand has secured a spot in the ICC Champions Trophy final after defeating South Africa by 50 runs in the second semifinal on Wednesday night.

Despite a brilliant century by David Miller (100 off 67 balls), the Proteas fell short.

Rassie van der Dussen contributed 69 runs, while captain Temba Bavuma added 56. For New Zealand, Mitchell Santner shone with the ball, claiming three wickets, while Matt Henry and Glenn Phillips took two each.

Earlier, New Zealand posted a commanding total of 362/6 in 50 overs after winning the toss and opting to bat in Lahore, Pakistan.

Rachin Ravindra (108) and Kane Williamson (102) led the charge with superb centuries, while Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips chipped in with 49 runs each. For South Africa, Lungi Ngidi took three wickets, Kagiso Rabada picked up two, and Wiaan Mulder claimed one.

With this victory, New Zealand advances to the final, where they will face India on Sunday in a high-stakes battle for the Champions Trophy title.
