KATHMANDU: The ‘Privatization (First Amendment) Ordinance’ has been approved by the House of Representatives.

In a session held on Wednesday, the House of Representatives approved the ordinance by a majority vote.

A proposal to reject the ordinance was also voted down by the majority.

Following this, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel presented a proposal to approve the ordinance, which was passed by the majority.

With this, the government now has the option to introduce a bill in place of the ordinance.
