Vice President Yadav calls for forest conservation action
Describing Nepal's lush forests as the country's wealth, he called for collective efforts in their protection.

KATHMANDU: Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav emphasized the need to prioritize forest and environmental conservation by formulating and implementing policies and programs.
Addressing the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Nepal Forest Technicians Association in Lalitpur on Tuesday, he highlighted the ongoing efforts for sustainable development focused on forests in recent years.
He stressed the importance of coordination among the government, stakeholders, local communities, and technical experts for the conservation, promotion, and sustainable management of forest areas.
Prioritizing policy reforms, the use of new technologies, and research, Vice President Yadav underscored the necessity of collective efforts to ensure the prosperity of forest regions.
Describing Nepal’s lush forests as the country’s wealth, he called for collective efforts in their protection.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining and expanding the 46% of the country’s land covered by forests.
Yadav also expressed concern over the declining water table and drying water sources in the Terai/Madhesh region, warning that the area could face desertification if action is not taken promptly.
