Fire erupts from boring in Tikathali, Lalitpur (video)

KATHMANDU: A sudden blaze erupted during a boring operation in Tikathali, Lalitpur, on Tuesday morning.

The fire erupts out after drilling reached approximately 900 feet (300 meters) deep.

According to locals, flames have been continuously emerging from the drilled pipe.

Despite attempts to douse the fire with mud and water, efforts to control it have failed, bringing the boring work to a halt.

Lalitpur Police spokesperson Narahari Regmi suspects that the fire may have been triggered by underground gas.

However, he stated that a detailed investigation is still underway.

The exact cause will only be confirmed after a scientific analysis.
