Tribhuvan Army Club secures spot in final of KP Oli Cup Football Tournament

KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) has advanced to the final of the ongoing KP Oli Cup Football Tournament by defeating Sankata Club 2-1 in the first semifinal held at Dasarath Stadium.
TAC took the lead in the 7th minute of the game, with Novyug Shrestha scoring the first goal for his team.
In the 65th minute, Dinesh Hemjan doubled the Army’s advantage with a second goal. Despite efforts from both sides, no further goals were scored, securing TAC’s place in the final.
The second semifinal will take place tomorrow, featuring the host team KP FC against Machindra FC.
The final match will be held on the 19th of Falgun.
The tournament, organized by the National Youth Association of Nepal, has seen the participation of 9 teams.
The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of Rs 15,111,111, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 500,000.
Notably, Gianluigi Buffon, the legendary Italian goalkeeper who led Italy to a World Cup victory, is expected to attend the final match, as confirmed by Krishna Hari KC, Vice Chair and Spokesperson of the National Youth Association of Nepal.
