NC-affiliated student leader Vikram “Dadhiram” Sitaula nabbed
The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested Sitaula on Friday afternoon.

KATHMANDU: Vikram, also known as Dadhiram Sitaula, a leader of the Nepal Students Union (NSU), the student wing of the ruling Nepali Congress, has been arrested.
The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested Sitaula on Friday afternoon.
He has been sent to the Kalimati Police Circle for further investigation, according to a source from the District Police Office. Dadhiram, a native of Chandragadhi in Jhapa, is the brother of Krishna Prasad Sitaula, the leader of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party in the National Assembly. He was arrested by the police from Maitidevi.
Sitaula’s arrest is related to an incident where he allegedly participated in vandalizing the office of the Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, Tanklal Ghising, in late Magh (February).
The vandalism occurred during a confrontation when a delegation from the Nepal Wushu Federation, led by its Chair Bir Bahadur Tamang and General Secretary Lhakpa Chhiring Lama, entered Ghising’s office to submit a memorandum. The group reportedly damaged tables and other items in the office during the altercation.
This incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with many, including athletes, coaches, and sports organizations, demanding strict action.
The High Court of Patan had earlier ruled on the Nepal Wushu Federation’s leadership, declaring it illegal, which escalated tensions leading to the vandalism. A formal complaint has been filed at the Kalimati Police Circle, which is conducting the investigation.
Various sports entities, including the Olympic Association and athletes, have expressed concern that such incidents tarnish the reputation of Nepali sports and have called for appropriate action to be taken.
