Heavy rainfall & snowfall across Nepal as pre-monsoon season begins
In the past 24 hours, the highest rainfall was recorded in Kalikot's Vijaypur with 74.4 mm, and in Nagma with 72 mm.

KATHMANDU: Heavy rainfall continues in various parts of the country, with snowfall occurring in higher hilly regions.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the influence of a western low-pressure system and westerly winds has led to light to moderate rainfall in the Sudurpashchim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki, Koshi, and Bagmati provinces.
Thunderstorms and lightning are occurring in the Sudurpashchim and Karnali provinces.
In the past 24 hours, the highest rainfall was recorded in Kalikot’s Vijaypur with 74.4 mm, and in Nagma with 72 mm.
Other places also saw significant rainfall, including Bajura (29.6 mm), Jumla (47.7 mm), and Dadeldhura (47.4 mm).
Rainfall has been observed in districts such as Kathmandu Valley, Mugu, Humla, Bajhang, Doti, Dolpa, Magdi, Palpa, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk, and Kavre, among others. In the Terai region, light fog is expected in the morning, clearing by midday.
Today, there will be more cloud cover in the Sudurpashchim, Karnali, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces, while other areas will experience partial to moderate cloud cover.
According to meteorologists, the pre-monsoon season has begun today. Due to the ongoing influence of the western system, there will be continued chances of rain and snowfall.
However, the weather is expected to clear partially this evening, with a full clearance expected from tomorrow, as stated by climate expert Dr. Dharmaraj Upreti.
