Laminar Tiles launches ‘CENTO’ – Nepal’s first full-body tile collection
Expanding its premium collection, Laminar has introduced CENTO, an extremely durable, strong, and high-quality full-body tile to the market.

KATHMANDU: Laminar Tiles, Nepal’s first and only vitrified tile brand, has achieved another milestone by launching the country’s first and only full-body tile collection, CENTO.
Expanding its premium collection, Laminar has introduced CENTO, an extremely durable, strong, and high-quality full-body tile to the market.
Full-body tiles have a uniform design throughout their surface and entire thickness, similar to natural stone. This ensures that even with wear or chipping, there is no visible change in color or texture.
According to Ashutosh Khetan, Managing Director of Lumbini Ceramics, the manufacturer of Laminar Tiles, CENTO tiles have a PEI Rating of 5 (indicating exceptional durability and strength), making them ideal for high-traffic areas such as airports, shopping malls, hotels, hospitals, parking areas, pavements, and both commercial and residential spaces.
Internal testing conducted as per ISO and Indian standards has demonstrated that CENTO tiles, with a thickness of up to 15mm, significantly outperform natural granite of the same thickness in the following parameters:
The company further states that CENTO has also shown superior results in chemical resistance tests compared to natural granite. It has passed tests for stain resistance, household and swimming pool chemical resistance, and resistance to both high and low-density acids and alkalis.
Nepali consumers now have an affordable and highly durable alternative to slippery granite or marble for staircases and other applications in homes and offices. CENTO tiles are long-lasting, do not wear out, and provide excellent grip.
The CENTO full-body collection was officially unveiled by Nepal’s Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, during the inauguration ceremony of the Nepal Buildcon International Expo.
With a combination of attractive design and durability, this collection is an excellent choice for architects, interior designers, and both commercial and residential projects.
