KATHMANDU: On Thursday morning, Facebook users around the world experienced technical issues that temporarily prevented access to the website.

For several hours, many users were unable to log in or load Facebook through web browsers, encountering error messages instead.

Users attempting to access Facebook via its website were met with a message stating, “Sorry, something went wrong,” which led to widespread complaints across other social media platforms, including Twitter and Reddit. While the website was affected, Facebook’s mobile applications continued to function normally, allowing users to stay connected through their smartphones.

The outage was reported in multiple countries, including Nepal, but after a few hours, the issue was resolved, and normal services were restored. However, Meta, Facebook’s parent company, has yet to release an official statement regarding the cause of the problem.

Despite the temporary disruption, Facebook is now fully operational, and users can once again access their accounts without issues.

Such outages, while rare, have occurred in the past due to technical glitches, server maintenance, or unexpected system failures.

Meta is expected to provide further details if the issue was linked to any major technical updates or cybersecurity threats.

For now, Facebook users can continue using the platform without any interruptions.
